Best natural sunscreen sesame oil

Best natural sunscreen sesame oil
Sesame is one of the most widely used Ayurvedic medicines. Sesame oil or “Til Tailum” has been mentioned in Ayurveda for its multiple properties. In fact, it has been claimed as a best ayurvedic massage oil for its natural health benefits.
Acharya Charaka and Sushruta described so many properties of Sesame oil, Twachya property is one of them, it means good for skin and improves the quality of the skin, in terms of nourishment and protection.
It has Sukshama quality means it can be able to enter minute body channels.
It also has Vyavayi quality means gets absorbed and enters body channels very quickly.
In ancient times kings and sages by virtue of the use of oil sunscreen overcome ageing.
In that time people were not wearing any specific sunscreen, they were doing massage with oil and also wear in daily bases. It kept them safe from sun damaging and any further damage caused by sun exposure.Including natural SPF, it contains plenty of nutrients that are good for skin health. It is rich in minerals, fatty acids along with linoleic acid, which provides high levels of moisture and prevents dehydration in the skin. It is also rich in vitamin E, D and B complex which makes it effective enough to reduce scars and pigmentation on the skin.
applying sesame oil topically to the skin can help create a protective layer on the skin and save you from the harmful UV rays.
It is also called Gingelly oil, it is rich in zinc
which is one of the most important minerals for your skin. it can increase skin elasticity and smoothness and reduce oxidative stress, thereby helping reduce the appearance of age spots and eliminating skin conditions, including premature ageing.
Sesame oil is capable of forming a protective film over the skin to eliminate the damages done by free radicals. If you are trying to avoid chemical sunscreens, then applying sesame oil on your skin is a great idea. The presence of vitamin E in sesame acts as an antioxidant.
Mix a few drops of carrot seed oil along with sesame oil. This will act as an effective sunscreen and keep your skin fresh.
What Makes the Sun So Harmful?

Three types of radiation present in our environment.
1.UVA radiation-. It is responsible for ageing, wrinkles and skin cancer,, it has wavelengths between 320 and 400 nm that can penetrate the deeper layers of the skin. Since the ozone layer barely absorbs it, UVA radiation accounts for 95% of the UV radiation that hits the Earth.
2. UVB-UVB radiation, it stands for sun burning, has wavelengths between 320 and 290 nm and is mostly trapped by the ozone layer. It makes up the remaining 5% of the UV radiation that hits the Earth. UVB radiation is responsible for the production of vitamin D in our body, but overexposure to this radiation causes damage to the skin, mostly the top layer, resulting in skin cancer, sunburns, and even cataracts. In recent years, due to ozone layer depletion, more UVB rays have been reaching the Earth, and such increases are correlated with an increase in skin cancer.
3. UVC radiation- which has the shortest wavelengths between 290 and 100 nm, and hence the highest energy, is the most harmful of the three radiations. Luckily this radiation is blocked almost completely by the ozone layer
The amount of UV radiation also varies depending on the time of day. When the sun is high in the sky between 11AM and 1PM, the distance the UV radiation has to travel to reach the Earth is the shortest for that day, and so, the UV radiation is the strongest. In fact, almost one third of the UV radiation that hits the Earth in a day occurs during these two hours. So we have to avoid to go out between 11 AM to 1 PM.
sun damage causes
Sunburns
sunburn is the body's response to UV radiation exposure. When UVB radiation hits the skin, the cells of the skin die and parts of their non-coding micro-RNA become damaged and break. The body's neighbouring cells detect such RNA damage and set off a series of reactions to inflame the skin around the dead cells. This inflammation or sunburn, allows the skin to heal by removing the dead cells and cells that may have undergone genetic mutations due to exposure to the UV radiation. such mutations are the basis of cancer formation.
Ultraviolet Radiation and the Eyes
Not only is skin exposure to UV light harmful for our skin, but it is also very dangerous for our eyes, especially for people with blue or very lightly coloured eyes. Just like skin, the eyes can get burned by short-term exposure to UVB radiation.
what exactly causes this tan-
It all starts with the pituitary gland, which releases melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) in response to UV radiation exposure. MSH triggers special cells called melanocytes to produce more melanin, the skin's pigment that absorbs UV radiation and hence protects the skin. Therefore, in stimulating the production of more melanin and darkening the skin.
When exposed to UV radiation, the collagen and elastin fibres in our faces break down, thus reducing the flexibility of the skin, the result is .sagging and wrinkles. According to a study published in Clinical, Cosmetic, Investigational Dermatology80.3% of wrinkles and another sun-caused skin ageing is due to UV radiation
SPF (sun protection factor) is a relative measure of how long a sunscreen will protect you from ultraviolet (UV) B rays. this calculation does not apply to UVA rays.
To get the most protection, you want a broad spectrum sunscreen—which protect against UVB and UVA rays. But it's important to note that no sunscreen blocks 100 per cent of UVB rays and ultra-high SPFs are not much more protective than SPF of 30 or 50.
SPF 15 blocks 93 per cent of UVB rays
SPF 30 blocks 97 per cent.
SPF 50 blocks 98 per cent
and SPF 100 blocks 99 per cent of UV rays. you also need to cover up with clothing and a hat, seek the shade, and try to stay out of the sun during peak hours 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

There are two types of sunscreen available in the market

1.mineral sunscreen or physical sunscreen or inorganic sunscreen, It only contains zinc oxide or titanium dioxide,  it sits on the top of your skin  and reflect the sun’s harmful rays before they are able to penetrate the layers of our skin.
2. chemical sunscreens or Organic sunscreen-it  includes octinoxate, homosalate, octocrylene, oxybenzone, octisalate, and/or avobenzone, these are UVA-protecting ingredients,
they are absorbed into the skin and act as effective UV filters. When exposed to UV rays, these compounds undergo chemical reactions that convert radiation into heat,  As the compounds, are converted into heat, the sunscreen begins to lose its protective abilities. This is why frequent re-application is necessary, chemical sunscreens increase redness, and exacerbate flushing in sensitive or rosacea-prone skin. Sometimes it is harmful.
sesame oil is a natural UV protector. Using them on a daily basis could limit the direct exposure of your skin to the sun and thereby slowing down the effects of ageing. They are also found to be an active barrier against smoke and other pollutants in air.
